What is online and mobile banking?
Online and mobile banking are applications that give you easy access to your account information. Once you’re enrolled and sign in, you’re presented with account information that includes:
- Your accounts with Great Lakes Credit Union (that you’ve enrolled in online banking)
- Your current balances on your accounts (not including any checks that haven’t cleared or other possible outstanding transactions that haven’t yet been entered in the system)
- Items that have cleared your account
- Deposits you’ve made
Online banking displays your account information in your web browser, while mobile banking displays your account on your mobile phone. Both are secure and encrypted applications that provide you with convenience.
Can I use online or mobile banking in place of my check register?
While online and mobile banking can be used to cross check your check register and other records that you may have, it’s a good idea to still keep a written record of your transactions since checks and transactions may not appear in online or mobile banking until after they’ve cleared.
Why Use online or mobile banking?
Online and mobile banking provides you with a fast and convenient way to check when transactions have cleared and when deposits have been made. For example, if you need to know if your direct deposit has went into your account, it’s much more convenient to log into online or mobile banking than it is to make a trip to the ATM or have to wait to call one of our locations if it’s after hours.
